The Team

Our team consists of a trustee body, a prayer community and a wider group of friends of Upper Reaches all of whom have a heart for those working in Temple Quay. Our executive trustees make the prayer barge and the Upper Reaches charity function.

Our Prayer Co-ordinator and ensures we pray for businesses and people who ask for prayer on a regular basis and sends out our prayer updates. 

The prayer community meets from time to time and many of them are involved in maintenance, running Lent and Advent reflections and generally getting involved.

For years Victor felt God was interested in the workplace and Temple Quay and dreamed of a barge dedicated to God on the Upper Reaches of the floating harbour near where he worked. When he met Colette, a solicitor and executive director of a large commercial law firm who worked in Temple Quay, over a coffee, they discovered a shared vision for space for prayer and reflection. Upper Reaches began in 2013 to support those working in Temple Quay. At that time, it was a regular prayer meeting open to all. Colette was inspired to walk with others and encourage them to connect with God. She formed the charity in 2014 and started to explore funding for a prayer barge - a space for prayer and reflection. And God provided all that was needed!

Victor is now the executive trustee and leads the rhythms of prayer on the Prayer Barge. Like Colette, Victor is a lawyer by training. After a 25-year career as an insolvency practitioner he led a large commercial law firm through the financial crash and a merger.

He now divides his time between Upper Reaches and other leadership roles as well as his family and sailing, mountain walking and cycle touring …
