Our History

The Prayer Barge arrived in Temple Quay by low loader from Warwickshire and then a tow from the Bristol Harbourmasters team on 30 March 2017. There is a video of that wonderful day here. 

This was the culmination of years of prayer and dreaming of a dedicated place for prayer, reflection and connection in the heart of the working community in Temple Quay - a recognition that God’s interested in each of us, our work and workplace.

There are many story lines which weave together to arrive at where we are today - stories about finance, disappointments, moorings and access, wonderful supporters, craftspeople at Colecraft - but mostly of a Great God who loves us. We’d love to tell you more and to hear your story. There is also a story book on the Prayer Barge for when you visit … and of course, the story continues and we’d love you to be part of it…
